Flatpay is a fast-growing payments company taking on the incumbents with fairer pricing and a simpler product. As we scale in the UK, we’re hiring a Chief of Staff to sit at the centre of the business, working directly with the MD to turn strategy into action, unblock what’s slowing us down, and lead the initiatives that matter most. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role with a deliberate path into a senior commercial leadership position.

About the job
What you'll do
- Identify, scope and lead strategic projects end-to-end, from initial problem framing through to execution and measurable impact.
- Build the business cases, financial models and analyses that sit behind our most important decisions.
- Own special projects as they arise: GTM strategy for new product launches, opening new functions, and geographic expansion across the UK.
- Work closely with the Managing and Commercial Director on improving commercial performance and monitoring unit economic impact.
- Work closely alongside the heads of SDR, Field Sales and Portfolio Management, with a path into a leadership role in one of these functions at some point in the future.
Who you are
- Analytical and rigorous. You build models and analyses to a high standard and know how to derive the so-what from the analysis.
- A clear communicator. You can simplify complex processes into actionable, understandable initiatives for the broader organisation.
- High agency. You’re proactive, roll up your sleeves, and find ways to get things done in ambiguous environments.
- Commercially ambitious. You want to run a large commercial function (100+ people) one day — this role will prove it.
- Low ego, high impact. You care about the outcome, not the credit, and you make the people around you better.
- Operationally sharp. Excellent stakeholder management, strong organisation, and comfortable holding multiple priorities at once.
- Technically capable. Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, and comfortable using AI-based tools (e.g. Claude Code, ChatGPT).
- 3–5 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, or a high-growth startup.
- A degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Prior exposure to commercial strategy, operations or go-to-market planning is a strong plus.
